Fall Protection: Lifelines

Lifelines are a component of a personal fall protection system consisting of a flexible line for connection to an anchorage at one end so as to hang vertically (vertical lifeline), or for connection to anchorages at both ends so as to stretch horizontally (horizontal lifeline), and serve as a means for connecting other components of the system to the anchorage.

Lifeline type or style can have a significant impact on your system’s ease of use or installation, longevity, and fall clearance. Synthetic lines are very lightweight and compact while galvanized or stainless steel options offer added corrosion and abrasion resistance and typically require less fall clearance.
